We serve because Christ first served us.

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)

Grace to us in Jesus frees us to serve him and each other.

"To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Fatherto him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen." (Revelation 1:5-6)

Our vision at St Michael's is to see more disciples of Jesus shining as lights in our city.

There are a multitude of ways people can serve - read more about them here before filling in this form.

We are part of and adopt the Sydney Anglican Diocese Statement of Personal faith:

I believe and hold to the truth of the Christian faith as set forth in the Nicene Creed, as well as the Apostles Creed, below

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried.

He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy universal church;

the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.

In particular, I believe

  1. that Gods word written, the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct;
  2. that there is only one way to be reconciled to God, which is through his Son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and was raised for our justification;
  3. that we are justified before God by faith only;
  4. that this faith produces obedience in accordance with Gods word, including sexual faithfulness in marriage between a man and a woman, and abstinence in all other circumstances.

Serving through the week

For further detail please about these roles, please visit the website to read the expectations etc.

For several ministries (including Kids and Youth teams, Jesus Club team, SRE teachers, English Classes teachers, Growth Group Leaders, Mobile Community Pantry Team), it is expected that you will:

  • complete Safe Ministry Training (essential for ministry to <18y , strongly encouraged for all);
  • undertake ministry-specific training;
  • read and comply with Faithfulness in Service code of conduct;
  • provide Working with Children Check details (essential for ministry to <18y);

Recognising that sometimes we find it harder to recognise the ways God has gifted us, I have observed gifts in others that I'd like to see them encouraged in.

Tip: Please contact your current team if you'd like to finish up any current roles in order to start something new.

Thank you for taking the time to consider how you may serve St Michael's. A member of staff will follow-up with you.
